Drywall Repair
Various types of drywall have been around since the late 19th century. But it really became popular here in the mid-20th century as it offered a better method than the then traditional lath and plaster process. It saves on both time and labor to use drywall but, like many areas of your house, it is susceptible to damage and wear and tear so will occasionally need maintained and repaired. We have been offering drywall repair services since we started operations and can repair or replace any damaged areas.
Cracked Drywalls There will be times when you will not immediately spot any damage to your drywalls. In fact, on many occasions, our team has spotted damage while carrying out other work and then reported it to the owner. It is worth occasionally inspecting your drywall surfaces to see if they need a repair. If you see any cracks, look closely at it. It may just be a crack in the paint, but if it appears quite deep, then it is a crack in the actual drywall itself. If this is the case, then our team of experts can usually repair it with some plaster then our painters can apply a fresh coat of paint. Dents and Dings Dents and dings are damage caused to your drywall by various things coming into contact with the wall. Dents tend to be larger areas of damage and can be caused by someone knocking into the wall with something or falling against it. If a smaller dent, we can usually repair with some plaster. If larger, we may suggest replacing the drywall. Dings are smaller areas of damage. We often find these can be cause by smaller objects hitting the wall, such as children’s toys etc. Dings are usually easier to repair and rarely mean any need for actual replacement. Water or Moisture Damage Another thing that may lead to a need for drywall repair in Greensboro is damage from water or moisture. This could come from leaking or broken pipes, or from an external leak in your walls or roof. A lot of water damage can affect the integrity of your drywall and it will likely need replaced. Another thing to consider is that left untreated, water and moisture damage can lead to fungi and mold developing, which can pose a significant health risk to your family. Moisture in your drywall can also lead to cracks appearing. The sooner any issue is spotted; the sooner it can be dealt with. Repair or Replace If you have spotted any damage, or suspect damage that you cannot see, then call our team of experts immediately. We will visit your home and inspect and assess the drywall area. We will then advise you as to whether the damage is repairable or whether replacement is needed. We will carry out all required work to the highest standards and will repaint the new or repaired area so it looks exactly the same as it did originally. |
